Plans sometimes seem like nothing more than wish lists. You want to do something. You think it through, and formulate a course of action to achieve the goal(s) you have in mind. Then you go for it. But sometimes obstacles get in the way. Life happens. And it sometimes seems like the plans you have in mind become even further away from you than they were when you first conceived them.

For a couple of years, I’ve wanted to open things up a bit here at Jack of No Trades Productions and offer more than just horror. Horror is, of course, my passion—I love it to death. But I realize that not everybody enjoys reading horror and so I wanted to offer something else to those who prefer reading other genres. But there was always something in the way.

As a small business, there are a lot of constraints as to what you can do when your budget is extremely tight—ask any small business owner in any industry. You have the desire, but you lack the necessary funds. Everything has to be done in baby steps, and it seems like it takes an eternity to get things accomplished.

But if you remain focused, buckle down, and stay driven… it can be done. Sure, it takes time. And if you’re as impatient as I am, it can be mighty frustrating!

But it can be done.

I proved that this morning by releasing for the first time ever Fantasy selections into our Short Fiction Store. They are but a few starting out, but I do (plan) to release more in the future. Customers coming to the site will notice the return of the “Free Exclusives” tab in the toolbar. There’s a Fantasy gift in there from me to you. I hope you enjoy it as well as the new Fantasy selections in our online store.
